After relocating to San Diego, CA, Dr. Walton opened Heights Optometry in her own neighborhood of Normal Heights in the spring of 2015 and in summer of 2017 took over ownership of North Park Optometry. She is passionate about serving her community by delivering quality care, providing thorough eye examinations and educating her patients about the importance of routine eye health. Dr. Walton is committed to helping every patient see to the best of their ability.
Dr. Walton is a participating member of the national, state and local Optometric Societies and volunteers locally to help patients with limited resources have access to eye exams and glasses. In her time out of the office she enjoys outdoor activities with her husband, three sons and their pet dog. You can also find her enjoying one of the many great local restaurants San Diego has to offer, community events, and participating in runs/walks that support various local charities.
Dr. Ciuffreda is a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the American Optometric Association, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She has published and presented several scientific and clinical papers and has also lectured at international meetings and local optometric education programs.
Ginny Schaffner, O.D.
Dr. Ginny Schaffner graduated with honors and was a student-athlete at the University of Kentucky, then received her doctorate degree in optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2019. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Schaffner recently moved to San Diego with her husband, who is an optometrist in the U.S. Navy.
Dr. Schaffner is passionate about vision care in all ages, from newborns through seniors. Developing eyes in children have different needs than adult eyes, and she loves that she gets to serve patients of all ages in the general optometry setting.
She is a member of the San Diego County Optometric Society, the California Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. Outside of the office, you can find Dr. Schaffner hiking in the San Diego area, surfing with her husband, or exploring all the good food and fun neighborhoods San Diego has to offer.
Chantelle Davis, O.D.
Dr. Davis was born and raised in San Diego. She received her Bachelors of Science from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, then spent a year living as a healthcare volunteer in Perú. She then moved to Boston to attend New England College of Optometry, where she graduated with honors in 2018.
After receiving her Doctorate of Optometry, Dr. Davis moved back home to San Diego, where she completed a residency in primary eye care with an emphasis in ocular disease at the San Diego VA Medical Center. She is a member of the San Diego County Optometric Society, the California Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Davis is fluent in Spanish and welcomes patients of all ages and backgrounds. She is passionate about giving back to her community, and regularly participates in and organizes optometry mission trips to other countries. In her free time, Dr. Davis enjoys cycling classes, cooking and trying new restaurants with her husband.
Meredith Walton O.D.
Dr. Walton received her Doctorate in Optometry in 2011 from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Following graduation she moved with her husband who is in the Navy to his new duty station in Italy. While in Italy, Dr. Walton worked at the U.S. Naval Hospital-Naples, Italy providing eye exams for active duty military members and their families. Additionally, she lectured as an adjunct professor at the Italian optometry school, Universitá Frederico II and served local communities by participating in multiple free eye-care clinics throughout Europe.
Dr. Jamie Bergmark O.D.
Dr. Bergmark is a San Diego native. She attended the University of California Berkeley, earning a Bachelors in Public Health in 2012. Dr. Bergmark obtained her Doctorate of Optometry degree with honors from The Southern California College of Optometry. During her training she developed a passion for children’s vision development and binocular vision which led her to complete a post graduate residency program in Pediatric Optometry, Vision Therapy & Neuro- Rehabilitation at Bright Eyes Vision Clinic in Minneapolis, MN.
Dr. Bergmark practices full-scope optometry and her interests and experience include providing primary eye care services, management of binocular vision disorders, and care of pediatric patients as well as patients with special needs.
Dr. Bergmark is passionate about ensuring children are visually ready to learn and develop to their full potential.
In her free time, Dr. Bergmark enjoys being active; she enjoys dance, yoga, hiking, and spending time outdoors with friends and family.
